More About Our Projects
Thanks to generous donors like you we have been able to raise over $60,000 and more in each of the last 10 auctions. One hundred per cent of these funds are used to support the Covington Rotary Club projects in our local community and throughout the world through our club’s foundation.
Keystone Project – ELK RUN FARM HERB GARDEN
Our newest local keystone project will be partnering with Elk Run Farm over the next few years to finance and provide labor for transforming a portion of the farm into a community perennial herb garden!
Herbs are a healthy way to create tasty meals, and provide an engaging garden interaction by all who visit the farm or are served by the South King County Food Coalition.

Backpacks
In 2010, the our Rotary club initiated the Backpack Buddies program in our community. We partnered with The Storehouse Foodbank who distributed the bags to children in need. We helped finance, organize and administer this program which provided more than 200 elementary school children with food for the weekend. Each week, our high school Interact Youth volunteers collected, filled and delivered packed food to the foodbank.
Through the years, the need for this program continued to grow. In 2023 the program shifted to a community-supported program, and the Rotary Club of Covington continues to support with funding as needed.
